Befriender Ministry Are you or someone you know experiencing a time of special need? Perhaps you're going through grief or hardship for any number of reasons – loss of a loved one, loneliness, death, divorce, substance abuse, trouble at work. Are you or someone you know sick, homebound, or in a nursing home? Or maybe you're new to St. John's Parish and would like to visit with someone about that situation.
These are just some of the reasons you may want to call a BEFRIENDER. St. John's has recently implemented the BEFRIENDER MINISTRY Program. Befriender ministers are specially trained laypersons who are available to offer emotional and spiritual support to people during times of transition. Befrienders do not take the place of friends or family; they do not give advice or judge, and Befrienders take confidentiality very seriously. Befrienders are trustworthy people who will listen and care, and keep Befriender visits in the strictest of confidence.
If you, or someone you know, could benefit from the BEFRIENDER MINISTRY, please take advantage of this resource.
