An Invitation for New Members and Volunteers
The primary mission of the Parish Community Life Commission is to
encourage a sense of community, belonging and hospitality within our
parish. We gather as a church family in various ways throughout the year
to celebrate occasions such as First Communion, Confirmation, Ash
Wednesday and, of course, the Food and Fellowship events after Mass.
Getting involved with St. John's Parish Community Life Commission is a
wonderful opportunity to meet people, have some fun and most
importantly, a way to actively answer the Church's call to hospitality.
The Parish Community Life Commission is sending out an invitation for
new members of the commission to help plan and implement our mission. We
are also in need of a pool of volunteers that may want to help
occasionally with an activity but may not be interested in the planning
and organizing of events on a regular basis. The Parish Community Life
volunteers help by hosting, serving and cleaning up at these functions.
There are many ways big and small to serve.
As Catholics, we are all asked to be generous with our time and talents.
Please consider lending a hand now and then; and if you are interested
in being a member, we would love to have you join the Parish Community
Life Commission.
Some questions to consider: Could my family host the Food and Fellowship
gathering one time after mass this year? Could I contribute to a
reception or two with donations of food or time? Might I welcome
newcomers by bringing a welcome basket to their home?
Please contact Dave or Natalie Klostermann at 455-2707. There is also a
sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the church hallway. We will also
recruit help by phone. Parish Community Life Commission members are:
Dave and Natalie Klostermann (Co-chairs) Kathy Dix
Craig Brooks (Pastoral Council rep) Jenny Hampton
Sonia Redmond (Pastoral Council rep) Mollie Marti
