Message
from the Pastoral Administrator
Dear
Holy People of
God:
Re:
Moving Date is
set for the Weekend of August 7th and 8th
The
construction
project has come to a point where we must move from the main body of
the church
to the lower level for weekend masses. This will be an interesting
experience
for all of us. Those of you who were part of the original design and
vision of
the current parish facility will think you are experiencing the
1970’s all over
again. For those of us who moved here after the main church was
dedicated in
1976, a whole new experience awaits. We are headed back to the basement
where
it all began.
The
first mass below
is scheduled for the weekend of August 7th and 8th. We are in the
process of
securing accessibility for everyone. The lower level parking lot will
be
available for those who are not able to use the stairs. There will be
limited
parking at the back parking lot so I ask that this is reserved and used
only by
those who truly need accessibility. The lower level parking lot will
allow for
direct access to the lower level of the church without stairs. It will
be a bit
of a walk but it will be all on one level.
All
other
parishioners and guests will be asked to utilize the Parish Center
glass-door
entrance. This will mean that you will enter the facility at the glass
doors
and descend into the lower level via the stairwell located by the
upstairs
restrooms.
Please
understand
that every attempt is being made to make this a smooth transition with
as
little inconvenience as humanly possible. However, I am sure there will
be
things that come up as we make this move. We have tried to anticipate
all
aspects of this day but I am sure there are very practical things that
have not
been considered. I appreciate your patience and consideration as we
make this
shift in worship space.
If
you have
suggestions, needs or want to make recommendations please feel free to
call the
main office to let us know. We want to accommodate all people. Although
this is
an inconvenience, I ask that you continue celebrating the Holy
Eucharist here
at St. John’s with the goal of sustaining and strengthening the
parish
community while we wait the Blessing of the New Facility and the
Dedication of
the New Altar on Sunday, November 21, 2010 with Archbishop Hanus. I
thank you
in advance for your help and support of each other.
God
Bless Us All,
Sue
