First Communion

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life.  Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. John 6:35
This day was yet another blessed event as eleven more of our St. John First Communion candidates were able to come forward to receive Holy Communion for the first time.  And of course, Covid-19 made its presence known.  During the activities recognizing the students was not a problem because I knew where each candidate was seated, and they were with mom and dad. But afterwards, as we prepared for pictures, the girls, all wore white, had similar hair colors and styles and I was repeatedly asking them if they were who I thought they were. Thankfully, the girls were very patient with me and I for one will greatly appreciate the day when we can safely remove the masks.
